Jeff Willets

This is my 2nd time I've posted with regard to all of the hard work done by all of the members of the reunion committee.  One only has to look at the Blade, where the announcements are for reunions.

We are the ONLY school class to have an event, an event weekend, all the others are having a typical reunion, a dinner and dance at a country club, from 6-10 PM, that's it!  For a 50th!

Your classmates have made sure that the cost for ALL of the activites was reasonable and that this reunion would be one for the ages, a memoralble once in a lifetime event.

For those attending, we'll have a great time, to those who sat back and said, well maybe next time, this will be YOUR loss.  I know of many who have yet to attend a reunion, my question to them is what are you afraid of?  Renewing old friendships, having fun, enjoying life?  I don't get it.

So thanks again to all of those hard working classmates, hey even Pat, all the way out West, is working his tail off.  So don't be a stick in the mud, come on out and have some fun.

A  special thanks to the whole committee for putting together what looks to be a wonderful celebration. I know how much energy it takes to put something like this together.  Thank you for your dedication.  See you in October.

As I said, we are very proud of the committees that have taken their charge and run with it (wait 'til you see the take-home souvenirs from the Hospitality Committee!). We involved as many people as possible and more still are volunteering. It's the committees that are doing all the work, being creative and coming up with ideas. (I apologize for reacting as I did. I was disappointed that a classmate thought the weekend was too expensive after the committees have worked so hard to keep costs low.)

We are in the home-stretch now and the pace is picking up. Our next meeting is August 8 at 4:00 PM where we will take stock of where we are and start focusing on the small details. The place is TBD but will be announced so any others who want to volunteer can attend. We will be meeting on a regular and often basis from now on!

You have to be there--it's going to be epic!

Thanks Kim, Jan and I and all of our comittees have worked very hard to let people in advance of our plans.  Keepinig the tickets to $75.00 was pretty tough.  But, we did it.  Now we need the support of the Class of 68.  Please, send your reservations in.  Let's make this the best reunion.  As I've said, this will probably be last large get together.  We will have our fandangos each month.  Please come and enjoy.

The meeting room is in the basement. Bring whatever you want to drink and snack on. There is no food available. If you want to volunteer and have not or just want to know what is happening, you are welcome to come:

Thanks to all of you who are working to make this reunion a huge success!  I moved away from Toledo at 22 and did not keep in touch, but this reunion is my chance to harken back to my youth and I’m taking it.  I’ve been pouring over my senior yearbook looking up pictures of classmates when I see all the great photos posted on this website, trying to remember everyone.  But then I think, wow, 50 years has gone by, so it will be fantastic just to see all of us Spartans who have made it this far in life.  It will be a wonderful celebration and I thank you , the organizers, again for making this possible. See you there!

Diane, Thanks.   You're right.  There are special people to me in high school that are no longer here..  Cathy Otremba, Bobby Pearson, Tom Ahring and more.  I wouldn't miss this reunion for the world.  We have all changed over the years.  Hopefully wiser.  Don't miss this reunion.  Love to All

We need to check our data. I registered and paid for reunion back in June. I was sent a note saying I haven't registered yet so I went on website and registered again. So then I look at my Pay Pal notice and see that I have in fact paid twice.

I don't need a refund, I'll call it an additional donation. However, someone needs to check so others aren't registering and double paying.

08/07/18 10:18 AM #2729

Janis Fought (Brown)

Marc, I sent you a private message regarding your payments. We are not able to charge people because we do not see credit card information. If you and Chris are attending, then your payments are up to date and you have not over-paid or been charged twice.

I got an email from our Spartan Mike Bones Bocknavitch On the story of Bono vs Bones in his own words!

"ON THE BONO ?
When I went to Bowling Green Coach
Nehlen put Bones on my Helmet. And it stuck
From BG to Cleveland to Xerox Then to
Cincinnati and IBM so 49 Yrs later and I can’t shake
The Bones nickname For corporate functions
My name tag just said Bones funny how it traveled
With me to Cleveland WVA Cincinnati to ARIZONA and BACK
TO Cincinnati"

and there is your answer!

Bones vs Bono , it sound like to me the BG coach didn't know how to spell or couldn't hear very good but so he placed  Bones  by mistake on his helmet . I can understand how it stuck for 49 yrs and it's all because a coach couldn't hear very good  or spell. It's been BONO all through grade school and high school . Hey coach just spell his last name It's BOchNO vich  . Yours truly Joe GO odell  , the Mayor   lol
