Although Janis and I were just acquantances in high school, we became very good friends a few years later. She married one of my husband's close friends Ron Haynes. We had been married a few years when Ron called and wanted us to meet the girl he was dating. (Ron and my husband were '66 graduates from Clay .) You can imagine my surprise when he came to our home with Jan. They were married shortly after and we spent the next 25 years doing many things together. Jan always had a smile on her face even when she was battling cancer. She spent her last 11 months in hospice and Ron spent almost every night there with her. They were an amazing couple and she is greatly missed.
