50TH CLASS REUNION

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2018

STONE OAK COUNTRY CLUB  SCRAMBLE

(Luncheon hosted by Marc & Chris Hall)

Pictures from Pat Gilbert (sorry I forgot to post these - Marge)

Golf Scramble  - Chip Carstensen's team was 7 under par, Dave Dugai's and Chuck Mendeljian's teams were even par and Dave Dunmead's team was 2 over par. The remaining teams did not finish, but enjoyed the great lunch Marc & Chris Hall hosted, while the finishers braved the rain and cold.  A great time was had by all.

Pictures of the Golf Scramble will be on the flash drive.

Thanks Marc & Chris Hall for the wonderful luncheon and for arranging the class scramble. What a beautiful golf club you have. Rain or not our foursome , Dave Dunmead, Arnie Frets, Karen Case Bruns & myself had a wonderful time hacking around that wet but lovely venue. Thanks so much for your Hospitality.

My Queen and I finally made it home to Las Vegas this evening after 30 Days on the road. What a Beautiful Country we all live in. We wished that we didn't have obligations so that we could have continued our journey across this great land of ours. Stay well dear classmates... We both enjoyed seeing and visiting with you all! Next stop Honolulu sometime before the end of the month... Come visit us! ALOHA!

I just wanted to congratulate the reunion committee on its fine work, and thank Jan for using her amazing expertise to maximize the work of this committee.

Also wanted to thank everyone for their kind wishes for a speedy recovery from knee replacement surgery. Very kind and much appreciated.

If all goes according to plan, I will be seeing folks on Thursday, November 15th, at the November "Fundango."

Thanks for the compliment Margie but I must say it was my pleasure arranging the extra events for those who came early and stayed late! MANY THANKS TO THE COMMITTEE FOR ALLOWING ME TO PARTICIPATE!...

Sylvania Country Club  was in Great shape and those of us who played had a grand time. What a golf course! I had caddied there while in High School and loved it.

The Inkys dinner was great! We had about 40 classmates show up and the food and opportunity to visit with people you hadn't seen for fifty years was an experience to behold.

We also had a wonderful time at the Karaoke outing... who would have guessed that Chris Grievis would have such wonderful voice or that Roger had professional potential. The sleeper was Dave Dunmead who didn't get up on stage but entertained us with his great voice from his seat. It seemed like he knew all the words for every song!

The golf outing to Ottowa park was fun and some old friendships were renewed.

The pizza party at JoJo's was a good time as well and I want to thank Joe Goodell for making the arrangements.

The zoo trip was a gas as well and the classmates that showed up for that were not monkeying around!

Lastly the dinner Buffett at the casino was great as usual. I hear that a few folks won some bucks at the machines after the party broke up.

Not being able to participate in extra caricular activities while in school, for a variety of reasons, gave me the desire to do something to try and give back to all of you wonderful classmates that did so much to enhance our educational experience at Start... Thank you!

And Marge... Sheesh! I appreciate the advertisement for Hawaii 5-0. I just hope that my character doesn't end up on the cutting room floor.

Stay well dear friends and enjoy each other's company. I hope that more people participate in the monthly Fundango's they are like a mini reunion and ya just never know who might show up!

Nancy Wolff (Szymanski)

Thanks to all who served on committees for the reunion - the teamwork was amazing!  It seems all of our efforts & fretting paid off - everyone had a great time.  I had some R&R time in Oklaloosa Island, FL last week - think I'm finally recovered.

Please consider joining our next Fundango Nov. 15th.  I'm sure we'll be rehashing the events of the reunion.

Ed, Harriet, Chip & Dale - please take care.  Do what is required to heal properly.  We need you back in great shape!  Prayers for a quick recovery!

Janet Kazmierski (Fiedler)

As someone who came to the reunion from out of town, I just want to say how I appreciated all the efforts of the committee in making the reunion events special and accessible to everyone.  It was great seeing old friends again as well as getting to know other classmates whose path's I never seemed to cross.  When I tell friends in California about the event, they are all impressed with the number and quality of the activites that were planned.  I know this type of event does not come together overnight, so "Thank You" for your creative ideas and for all the long hours you put in to make this Reunion special for all us.

Walter "Chip" Carstensen

Hi gang. All is progressing well on my rotator and biceps surgery. I haven’t been able to sleep for the first  2 weeks much, but am feeling a little better each day. PT twice a week at Mercy and 3 times a day by myself. It’s painful but necessary.  Hopefully the next 2 weeks will continue to improve.  I have been in touch with Dale and Ed and commiserate about our common issues. It does help.  Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers. They also have helped keep spirits up on long boring days. Hope to be at the next Fundango and see everyone. Best...

Thank God for Tivo, I could copy that horrible show, and speed thru to see my classmate.  Great job on the role, of course it really didn't take too much acting ability, you were just playing yourself, right?

Didn't you say you were on Magnum years ago, I've got the complete set, which ones were you in?
