BTW Chip...the other couple who got wiped out in Dean Duncan's car on Prom Night on Secor Road was Jeff Ammer and me! I was so upset, as it was the first time Hokey would let me stay out past curfew and we ended up in the ER until Midnight! Great Prom story! :)

Dale Benington

Greetings fellow Sparatans. I apologize for not organizing our next Zoom “Fundango” sooner. I confess that I have been absorbed in all of these national events as of late. As you may recall, I spent 30+ years as a social studies teacher and I find all of what has been happening to be both compelling and distressing.

That said, Pat has urged me to get our next Zoom “Fundango” organized, and we have decided to go with this coming Thursday, at 7:00 pm (eastern time zone). Once again we will be looking for some of our out-of-town classmates to share some of what we all might find of interest regarding both a visit to their home and a visit to their city. If we are lucky, we might be able to get Roger to sing for us once again, as we make time for some general sharing, and conversation, and then finally, if need be, we can once again have a quiz bowl competition, boys against girls, over 1967 trivia.

Hope that you all can make it.

Oh, and Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads in the Start HS Class of 68.

Thanks Dale!

We had fun last time. Is there a zoom number and password?

Dale Benington

Pat,

My tech support team is currently RVing it over on the Marblehead Peninsula, and I am quite lost without the full support and focus of my tech support team, especially when it comes to Zoom technology. Once the Father’s Day weekend has past, and the dust has settled, I should be able to acquire the desired Zoom number and password. However, it probably won’t be until Tuesday, so stay tuned for further details.

Hello fellow Spartans! I have a favor to ask. My family in going to need your "thoughts and prayers" or what ever you do. My DIL had a double lung transplant 1/2014. The medications has caused stage 5 kidney disease and she needs a living donor kidney. Well, my son, her husband is a match. Surgery is scheduled for 7/22 at Cleveland clinic. I hope I will be able to be at their bedsides. So please send good thoughts and prayers our way. Thank you Oh, and please wear a mask when around strangers. You really don't know someone's story, what medical battle they may have. The mask is for your fellow American. Thanks

Marcia Kelso (Wilkinson)

Kathy - I'm sorry to hear about your daughter-in-law, but glad that your son is a match for her kidney.   They are coming to the right place for the surgery.  I can't give enough praise to the Cleveland Clinic.  They will have the best team on their side.  The Clinic is starting to open up the place more, but I don't know if you will be allowed in.  If you decide to come along, there are plenty of hotels around the Clinic downtown, but you're certainly welcome to stay with me.  The drive would be about 40-45 minutes on the freeway.  You are all in my prayers, and I know things will go well.  My mask is my best friend.  Blessings,  Marcia (Kelso) Wilkinson

Kathy Storm (Wenninger)

Thank you Marcia. I may take you up on it. Found out yesterday, I have to drop them off, I'm not allowed to be with them. I hope that changes cuz I can't do that on the day of surgery. I hope I can sit in the lobby and wait...I slept in various waiting rooms when she was getting diagnosed, testing and transplant. She had the transplant in 2014 at cleveland clinic. It is the best, we usually stay at an Airbnb about 10 min away. I'll get your info from Nancy. Thanks

Most of you missed out on a great Zoom Fundango. We got to see Danny Thomas's water front villa on Lake Erie. Manuel Chambers waterfront mansion on the Gulf Coast. Pearl Harbor from my front yard and a wonderful rendition of "Sweet Caroline" from Roger Worley! (Wa,Wa,Waaa) Bonnie Hefner delivering cream of broccoli soup to Kathy and Ed. And our fearless leader Dale... wowing us with tales of the RV (or did he)??? Gene Redman showed off his Daytona Beach vacay condo and it was Right on the beach. Jim Koinis telling us of the devastation to the Navajo Nation from Carona. And...I swear for a minute there I thought I saw Jeff Willits in his Farlain and Jim Redd in the Yellow mopar car drag racing on the beach. Any way I hope you all can make the next one in a month or so.

Us out-of- towners miss you guys!

Stay safe and wear your masks!

Aloha

Pat & La-Li

Walter "Chip" Carstensen

My brother Bill and his wife Cathy need our collective thoughts and prayers.  Bill has been in the hospital then out, only to go back in a few days later to get a strong chemo treatment for his Lymphoma. He is eventually going to give T cells for a later treatment from Cleveland Clinic which is promising.  The chemo hopefully will reduce the enlarged spleen which is giving him pain.  Please don't call, but use our Forum for communicating well wishes.  Need lots of positive vibes right now.
