I too am saddened by Linda's passing. I saw her periodically while shopping at Sauters in Sylvania and we chatted about our Spartan friends and caught up with the latest news.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes from my classmates.  I am truly blessed to have my Spartan friends!  Of course, I miss my brother Bill especially on this day; but he is with me all the time and it comforts me.  Those of us that made it to 75 need to celebrate life and cherish each day!

Hi all, I have a question. does anyone know all the names on the Vietnam Memorial. I know 1 of the names Randy Sauer but i can't recall who else was on the Memorial. Thanks

I also just heard that Gary Shultz from the class of 67 passed away. I'm sure many of you knew him. I knew Gary from school and we also worked together at General Mills for many yrs.. Prayers go out to his family and friends.

Happy Easter and Passover fellow Spartans.  Our April Fundango is Tuesday,  the 29th at 4 o'clock.   We will meet at Danny's Cafe,  600 Divie Hwy in Rossford.  We do need to celebrate we are alive and above the green grass. (Or not in an urn).  Maybe some snow birds are back and want to show off their tans.  Danny's made an exception to take our reservation after 3 o'clock so come hungry and thirsty.   Hopefully it will really feel like spring that day.🌞⛅ïļâ›ˆïļðŸŒĪðŸŒĨðŸŒĶ🌧ðŸŒĻðŸŒĐ🌊🌎

Right Chip and Kathy, we should all be grateful to be alive and live each day to the fullest. Gary Shulz lived two doors from me on Burnham. I also worked at General Mills for the summer after college, as did  Frank Valasek and Dennis Valasek who lived next door. Memories.

Francis,

Gary Shaw, who I believe was in the class of 1966, was killed in November of 1967. He was originally listed as MIA, and his remains have never been located. Gary and I went to church together and his death certainly brought the Viet Nam War home to me. His name in on the Viet Nam Wall.

Ed Cross. Not sure when he was killed. Actually saw his name when I was there

Francis,

I am still teaching at TSA. I have taught in some capacity in every school year from 1973-74 to present.

I taught full time in TPS from 1975 to 2010 when I retired and have been part time at TSA since the 2010-11 school year. I spent 15 years at Start H.S. teaching AP European History, World History, and Psychology.

At TSA, I teach Martial Arts, traditional Japanese Goju Ryu Karatedo. I teach it as it is taught in Japan, I also have an after-school Karate program with Bedford Public Schools’ Community Education Department.

I am still teaching too, Mark! I work three days a week--T, W, Th--cushy hours with Mondays and Fridays off. Right? I teach a Number Sense class to 2nd-5th graders. I developed it to make math more fun. There are no grades--just an engaging and fun time with children. I retired from FT at 70 and the next year I started up again with the part-time schedule. I have expensive habits like golf, theater, and Texans' season tickets. I also like seeing my lifelong friends (Joelene, Peggy, and Mary Ann) annually. This summer I am heading to Scotland with a golf buddy to see my roots and father's birthplace. Never been there, so very excited. Blessed to still have good health, a wonderful family, and lovely friends. Every single day is a precious gift! Very sad to hear about Linda.

Sandy,

I am glad that you’re still very active and involved in things. Retirement is not something that I look forward to.

Your adventure in Scotland sounds like fun; it’s the birthplace of your father and of golf. I’m sure that you’ll love it.

I have nothing planned for this summer but was in Japan for a few weeks last summer. I had 8 different flights, and 6 of them were on Japanese airlines. The difference between the US airlines and the Japanese is unbelievable. On JAL and ANA flights, the focus is on the customer. Politeness and courtesy are the rule. The food that is served is real, tasty, aesthetically pleasing.

Many thanks for the kind birthday greetings. I volunteer at a free medical clinic for uninsured low-income folks, and this makes me especially grateful to keep racking up healthy birthdays (and best of all, with a wonderful 54-year marriage still going strong).

Best wishes to all.

Hello Spartans,  sorry for the late notice.  Edward and I have been out of town, me last week and him this week.  I went ahead and made the call....next Tuesday at 3:30 our fundango will be at a newer restaurant.   Voodoo brewery Toledo, 7050 Central Ave.   Toledo.  In front of Lowe's on Central.

Eddie should be back just before the fundango.   I will not be there.  I'm having neck surgery,  a cervical fusion, on Monday.   Going home on Tuesday.   So give me some prayers and have a beverage (I drink coke), to me on Tuesday.   Enjoy and see ya next month.  ðŸĨ‚ðŸŧ

I believe we will have some extreme heat next week, did NOT book the patio.😘
