Patricia Lynn Shipman

"Patty"

On Sunday, December 14, 2014, Patricia "Patty" Lynn Shipman Fretz was called to heaven.
Patty was a dynamo, a mover and a shaker, a catalyst, and a warm-hearted woman, all rolled into one.

Patty is survived by her husband of 41 years, Arnold "Arnie" Fretz, and her three sons, Jason (Angel) Fretz, Jonathan Fretz, and Ryan (Amanda) Fretz. She is also survived by her mother, Marion "Nanny" Shipman; her sister, Wendy (Bill) Norris; three nieces, Carrie (Derek) Shultz, Susie (Matthew) Potter, and Kimberly (Scott) Mancino; her grandson, Ryker Fretz, and her grandson who will arrive in February, Hayden Fretz. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Shipman.

Patty was born on August 14, 1950, and lived most of her life in the Toledo area. She attended Start High School and graduated from Bowling Green State University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega. She began her career as a buyer for LaSalle's until she joined her father with Shipman Realty and Insurance.

Patty enjoyed spending her time at the family cottage on Vineyard Lake, playing bridge, and attending book club. She was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church. Patty was entertainer extraordinaire, she loved musicals and hosting parties at her Sylvania home, gathering her friends in celebration. Patty and Arnie also loved to travel, visiting many countries around the world.

Although she will be missed, her legacy will live on forever. She will be remembered for living life to the fullest.
