Linda and I were great friends in high school, but we only reconnected over the phone in the mid-1990's. She lived in Mesa, AZ with her husband and children and was a teacher for many years, as well as an accomplished tennis player. Her battle with breast cancer began in 1997. I visited her in Mesa in the fall of 2001 and we had a wonderful reunion, even though she tired easily and showed the effects of her fight. She passed away on February 6, 2002 and I attended her funeral, which was a wonderful celebration of her life. I will miss her always. Diane (Paren) Marchand

I went all through Whittier with Linda and we were in several of the same classes over the years. I remember thinking she was just beautiful in third and fourth grade. It is sad when you scan through a list of names of people you once knew so well and see those that have died at what we would consider a young age. My memories of Linda is that she was intelligent, very pretty and a very nice girl. Most of the boys in our elementary classes had similar thoughts. As I recall she was one of the most popular girls at Whittier.I haven't thought about her in years, but just visited Whittier a few weeks ago to take a look prior to it being torn down. The school has pictures of every class that ever graduated in books for public viewing. I remember looking at her picture last month during my visit with fond memories.
