Jacqueline Basinger

January 30, 1950 - December 5, 2014
Obituary

Jacqueline K. Basinger, age 64, went to be with Jesus, after a sixteen year battle with M.S. on Friday, December 5, 2014. She was born January 30, 1950 in Toledo to Henry and Ruth Greeno. She was a graduate of Start High School and a former employee of Champion Spark Plug, White Tower and Ohio Department of Motor Vehicles. Jackie lived in Toledo all of her life and enjoyed spending summers at her parents cottage on Posey Lake, where she loved to water ski. As a teenager, Jackie and her best friend of 50 years, Sandy, loved sun bathing and listening to the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. Later in life, her greatest joy was knowing Jesus and serving others. She was a member of CedarCreek Church where she served as a greeter and a member of the prayer team. She loved spending time with family, cookouts (especially chicken salad and chocolate) and going shopping with her daughter-in-law, Heather "aka Dill Pill". Jackie loved reading the Bible and sharing God's love with everyone she met. Jackie inspired so many with her selfless living and her ability to consider the needs of others before her own. If you needed a listening ear or prayer, Jackie was always there. She was an amazing and loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her greatest hope as of late was to be able to walk again. She is now in heaven, free of pain and walking with her savior, Jesus. Until we meet again Mom, we love and miss you.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruth Greeno, grandparents, Claude and Marie Eddinger, aunt, Dorothy (Bob) Kutsch and cousin, Sandy Bortel.
Jackie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Brian (Heather) Skomer, grandson, Blake Doom and Little C, brother, Henry Greeno Jr., aunt, Esther Rochte, and nephews, Jeff Greeno and John Greeno, cousins, Debbie (David) Hintz, Pat Hanson, Jim (Debra) Ross, Marsha Blessing and her 4 legged companions, Casey and Charlie.
Visitation will be at H. H. Birkenkamp Funeral home
