Marge - thank you so much for the beautiful memories & seeing all those wonderful smiling faces.  What a great relief from boredom at home!  For those of you who were there, I hope these made you smile.  For those of you who couldn't make it, perhaps when our wonderful monthly Fundango resumes you might consider joining us.  We have so many blessings & it's nice to share!!

Dale Benington

Greetings,

As always, I do hope that all is going well with each of you, and your families. This Covid19 thing is indeed scary, and unfortunately very often hitting close to home. One of my friends, that I knew from my college days, just passed away from it this past Monday. It caught me by surprise because it seemed like he had survived the worst of it and was on the road to recovery.

It is because of our prolonged dealings with self isolation and social distancing, done in response to the Covid19 pandemic, that Pat and I (Okay, it was actually mostly Pat) came up with the idea of an online “May Fundango,” but for whatever the reason, it has not gotten much of a response. Which is fine, we can all wait until the restaurants open back up again before we resume our monthly social gatherings. But because this seems like such a good opportunity to make connect with “all” of our classmates, and not those just living in the Toledo area, we wanted to give this option one more run up the flagpole (still looking to see who all salutes it), before we give up on the idea.

So just in case you might like the opportunity to test the “Zoom” technology, to see just how our online “Fundango” would work, I have set up the meeting (with the help of my tech support team, my wife Pam), and have created a link that you can use to access the meeting in advance. Here is the our “Zoom” information:

Dale Benington is inviting you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.

Once again your “May Fundango” is set for, Thursday (05/07), at 7:00 pm (EDST). Hope to see you there.

Marge, thanks for posting all of the photos, I've been remiss in not going thru the thumb thingy to view the photos, brings back many good   memories, guess I need to get that out and view it finally, since I've got plenty of time on my hands.  Everyone stay well and safe.

Thanks Marge - what a nice treat to look at those pictures again.  Everyone looks so good, and they bring back a lot of very special memories.  I hope everyone is doing well, and Dale I'm sorry about your friend.  Hopefully things will change soon; but if not, please stay inside and stay safe.

Yes Dave,

It went well for our first try. How nice it is for us out of towners to be able to participate and spend time with old friends. Roger has a great singing voice and a karaoke set up in his ManCave. If he can figure it out maybe we can have a karaoke funfango. So sorry my internet reception didn't hold up all the way out to the farther reaches of the yard. We have a banana tree That has fruit on it and is ready to pick. That was going to be the highlight of my tour. Oh well maybe next time.

We hope that more of you Spartans can join in next time let's see we had Dale, La-Li & I, Dave , Roger, Chris, Marcia, Joan, Kathy. Bonnie, Karen, Jan, George & Chip in attendance.  Oh yes and Arnie.. Thanks Marcia!

Happy to report that the Boys finally beat the girls at something by defeating them 7 to 6 at 1968 Trivia. Although there were some complaints about there being too many sports trivia questions. We will try and fix that next time Karen!

So stay well everyone, don't venture out unless you have to. We want you all to stay safe and healthy until we can all be together again.

Aloha from quarentine in Hawaii

Pat Gilbert

Pat - you forgot that Arnie was there too.  Remember the tour of his liquor cabinet?  How could anyone forget Arnie?  We saw some beautiful homes.  Goerge Koinis was gracious enough to show his place, and Roger's man cave is really something else.  I didn't know you had such a great voice, Roger, and thank you for the entertainment.  Going to have to brush up on my 1968 trivia.  Karen, you're starting to sound like a southerner with the "y'all" saying.  It was good seeing everyone again, and I'm looking forward to the next time.  Thanks Dale, Pat and Chip.
