Many of us of Polish, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, etc. descent had grandparents who escaped from the Russian empire, which had not allowed their nations to exist independently. Now we're seeing a replay of those horrible times, with even more terrible weapons. Many Ukrainian heroes refusing to be enslaved once again, and dziękuję to Poland and all the other countries who are taking in the refugees.

And while you are recalling how many digits of the mathematical constant pi that you can remember, whilest enjoying your favorite slice of pie, rest assured that the significance of this nationally recognized day has not been lost on either Ed or myself. So in honor of our favorite math teacher, Mr. Eller, we will be, belatedly, celebrating National Pi Day by holding our March Fundango, at “The Stubborn Brother Pizza (Pi) Bar” (3115 W. Bancroft St.), on Tuesday, March 29th, starting at 3:30.

Be sure to bring along your favorite Ellerian utterance (i.e. "don’t be caught behind the eight ball," "watch out or you’ll end up at the bottom of the totem pole," etc.) and join us for some tasty pizza pi.

Gary McMahon Beware! First off, I’m ok. I was a little shaken up last night I was robbed at the 7-11 gas station at Cherry St. and Bancroft. After my hands stopped trembling, I managed to call the police. They were quick to respond and calmed me down. My money is gone. The police asked if I knew who did it. I said yes… …. it was pump number 3.
