A big THANK YOU to all our service people who have fought bravely and made this country a safe place to live.  Many condolences for those who did not make it, but gave it their best to do what was right to bring peace to us all.  We live free because of these brave heros.

It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of John Robert Bradford, Class of '67 and my ex- husband who some of you may remember. He was born in Toledo, but lived in Oklahoma City, OK where he died peacefully on May 16 at age 74.

He was the brother of Barbara Meyers (Bradford) and Brenda Grodi (Bradford).

He is survived by his daughter, Kristin Leigh Hoff (Bradford) of Durango, CO and Brendan Kyle Bradford of Oklahoma City, OK.  He was also grandfather to Alexis Kristina Hoff, Abigail Elizabeth Hoff and Ashleigh Diane Hoff of Durango, CO.  He was uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents and older brother James Frederick Bradford.

He was a petroleum landman for many years and traveled the country for his work. In his younger days he was an avid scuba diver, snow skier and handyman.  And he was a jokester.
His humor and kindness will be missed.  ❤️

I didn't know how to post this on the website for the Class of '67, so I posted it here. Maybe someone will know how to do that and pass it on.  If that happens, I thank you in advance.

Diane - Thank you for posting.  I seem to remember a picture in the yearbook of you two dancing together.  We are losing far too many but it's not up to us.

I also graduated from college on June 10th and realized the coincidence when looking at diplomas. Also, I went to 3 schools whose colors were green and white. And while in grad school I used to challenge people to sing the MSU fight song. I was always the only one who actually knew the words because I learned it when I was in Start's choir. A fun party trick after a few drinks...

Hi Debbie!

Glad to see that you graduated from college on June 10th too. I graduated from BGSU on June 10th 1972.  June 10th for me saw 3 graduations: grade school, high school and college. Funny how some things happen. Have a GREAT day!!!

Pam,

While I graduated from both DeVeaux and Roy C. Start on June 10th, I was just plain out glad that I finally graduated from college, on whatever day of the year that it finally ended up being. I was on the eleven year plan. As I recall, I got my diploma sometime in December of 1979.

To everyone,

In “Fundango” news, I have a news alert for you. For the month of June, we are moving our “Fundango” from a Tuesday, to a Thursday. That’s right, the June “Fundango” is scheduled for Thursday, June 29th, starting at 3:30.

What is the reason for this deviation from our usual norms, you may ask? Well, it is so that we can all enjoy the Thursday special at Pat & Dandy’s, which is located at 3340 W. Laskey Road.

And what is the Thursday special at Pat & Dandy’s, you may ask? Well, it is Prime Rib for $19.95.

Come hungry and I’ll be looking forward to seeing everyone.

Thanks for the birthday greetings (on Father's Day this year, just like when I was born). After 50 years of university teaching and research, June 30 will be my last day. "Professor emeritus" sounds really fancy, but it just means another old goat out to pasture. It was a good run (even as just another brick in the wall), but you retired folks had the right idea all along.

Best wishes to all for health and happiness.

Holy Toledo - 50 years!  That's some career.  Congratulations on your decision to become an "Emeritus" and enjoy your retirement.  I think you've deserved it.

Having worked in higher education, I know that a professor's retirement does not always mean a title of emeritus. It is awarded as a recognition of academic achievement. Congrats on an amazing career!

Congratulations John on both your long and distinguished career and your retirement. More time to play guitar! Go ride the music!

Dale Benington

Greetings,

I must apologize, I have been a slacker as of late, and have not provided a timely notification of our July “Fundango.” Bad Dale, Bad.

Ed, on the other hand, has been most diligent, and arranged for our social gathering on Thursday, July 27th, starting at 3:30 pm, at the "Brickhouse Restaurant & Bar," which is located at 535 W. Alexis Road, in Toledo.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Congrats John. Wasn't that long ago you were singing in a rock band wearing a bucket hat. Enjoy yourself in retirement
