I was the nerdy photographer for the school paper. I was too busy working at Black Diamond Nursery after school to socialize much. I left Toledo soon after graduation to go into the Army, eventually transferred to the Air Force, and retired in 1993. I have been a free-lance writer since the 70's. I am also a martial artist and taught Hakkoryu Jujitsu for 25 years. I live in the foothills of the Ozarks in eastern Oklahoma.
I have written two novels to date in the BlackStar Ops Group Series, the recently released BlackStar Bomber, and Black Star Bay, and am working on the third, BlackStar Mountain.
I think I owe much of my success to the work ethic I learned growing up in Toledo. I won't remember most of my classmates, but, give me a call if you'd like.
I took a photo in the parking lot that won first place in an Ohio journalism competition. I don't remember the girls names, (the negatives and my copies of the school paper were lost), but, two girls were walking along the sidewalk on a rainy school day when a passing car sent a wave of water over them. It was a before and after sequence that needed no caption.

Hey, Pat! Did anybody record the Fandango? I was in a meeting, and unable to attend.

Hello Tom. I think we hung out for a few minutes during high school. Hope all is well!
Tom, like I said on the private side of this website, I feel sorry for those who did not serve because it was so much fun and rewarding, congrats and keep writing. You have proven the benefits of experiencing hard work, unselfish sacrifice, and teamwork. I look forward to reading your work.

Denise, I was not in the "in crowd" either, although I participated in a lot of the activities. I've been a freelance writer since the '70's, and recently tried my hand at fiction. I have one book, "BlackJack Bomber", a second book, "Black Star Bay", (coming out in about two-three weeks,) and am working on three others. They're available on Amazon, or Barnes and Noble. Feel free to contact me about writing at thomas@blackjackbomber.com. My publisher, Timber Creek Press does not accept unsolicited submissions, but I may be able to help.
