Is anyone interested in playing tennis on Saturday morning of our reunion weekend?  I would love to get at least one foursome.

Hi Pat, I'd love to play tennis..I'm only a 3.0 but I love it. Maybe we should post on the reunion website too? Fun! Betsy

Great idea, Betsy.  Does Start High have tennis courts?  Hope we can get several more players.

From the Desk of Marc Hall: Tennis anyone?

Stone Oak Country Club has nice tennis courts. I can check on availability if you are interested. It might be fun to play while others are playing in the SHS golf outing Friday morning. I have also arranged to have a luncheon set up following golf. All tennis players or other alumni are more than welcome. I just need to have head counts. Let me know if I can help.

I'd like to be in on the tennis and lunch at the country club Friday. Do I send money ahead, or pay then? It would be fun to just hit with anyone who can come out. Betsy

I committed to playing golf on Friday with SHS alums.  So, I am still throwing out there an invite to play tennis on Saturday morning (place tbd).

Hey Pat, I would love to hit the tennis ball back-and-forth on Saturday morning, but my racket resembles a waffle iron! If you have an extra one, I can join you.

Ok, thanks Marc for the offer, I'll try for tennis on Saturday instead.  I'd also signed up for the tour of Start Friday, so lunch would have been tough. Many thanks to all you organizers! It looks like a super time. Bets

Just to let everyone know that the Cherry Street Bridge will be closed in both directions starting the week of the Sept 24th through November. So anyone making maps or coming in to Toledo need to adjust the way they get here if using the Cherry Street Bridge or going to Tony Packo's.

Thank you for the reminder about the Cherry Street/Main Street Bridge. There will be traffic signs posted for detours each way so follow the signs!

My wife just booked our stay at the Best Western on Kit road in Maumee  for $71. Per night through Hotels.com! What a deal...

I see where some people have expressed some concern regarding the closing of the Martin Luther King Bridge (old Cherry Street Bridge), and on finding an alternative way to get to our Thursday night “Fundango” over at the original Tony Packo’s, over on the east side of Toledo. Might I make the following suggestion. If I was staying at the Renaissance Hotel, I would simply get on Summit Street (the street that the Renaissance is situated upon), head north to the Old I-280 bridge, NOT the new I-280 bridge, but rather, the old I-280 bridge, and cross the Maumee River there, turn left at the first traffic light, and proceed on Front Street to Tony Packo’s. According to Google Map, it will take all of 5 minutes to get there.

Follow the blue line, not the gray line.

Good Morning all, One week from now it will be one day after our picnic and as of now less than a week away I am asking for a hand for this picnic to be successfull. I will be at Olander park at 10 on Sunday Oct 7th to start setting up tables and odds and ends . If anyone shows up then great . There is a 20% chance of rain so I'm currently looking for a tent to at least go over the dogs , burgers and what ever everyone is bringing . Olander park is on Sylvania Ave. Sylvania , Ohio in between MCord Rd. and King Rd. Please remember NO booze allowed at the park .

My so called helper has finally showed up from 6,000 miles away Pat Gilbert . He maybe late as he is still looking for the pool and jacuzzi at his hotel lol.

I have a nice canopy that I use in my back yard. It is approximately 12'x12'. not sure if this is big enough for what you need. but it is available if it would do the job.

As for the jacuzzi, come on over, Pat.
